Learning Assembly

Ok, quick question. I found a document that's written as a basic Assembly
Language training manual on the Motorola web site (for the curious with 2.5
MB of disk space, see
http://sps.motorola.com/csic/techdata/refman/smlmcur2.pdf - thank God for
LAN connections!).

Some of it is *really* basic (boolean math, how gates work, see my pretty
transistor, etc), but it is clearing mud on how assembly in the uC works.
Here's the question. The book was written for the 68HC05 uC. For those out
there who "may know", is this micro similar enough to the 68HC11 that I'm
not wasting my time (intensely) reading the 200+ pages of this stuff? I'm
under the *assumption* that the language and architecture are similar - and
plan on "advancing" to the HC11 at a later date...

Thanks!

-Andrew
