165 to 730 results and questions

Over the weekend, I changed out the '165 (MAF) in my Firebird (L98/700r)
to a '730 (MAP) system. Well, results are a mixed bag for now:

1. I got a Code 41 - I promptly disabled the code. I used a 6-cylinder
calpak. Does anyone KNOW for sure if there is anything in the calpak BESIDES
limp home cals?

2. My knock sensor isn't compatible with the 730 evidently (I did remove the
knock module from the 165 setup). For now, I disabled code 43 and set the
knock enable temp to max (300 degs I think).

3. Motor seems to run much more responsively, but dies at rpms above 4000 -
MAF seemed to run up to 4800 before flatlining. I have tried a little more
timing, and fuel *seems* to be ok. No noticeable difference. My pump may be
weak though (will check that tommorrow). Any thoughts on this?

4. Idle quality isn't as good as before. I now have a misfire induced idle
roughness that wasn't there before the swap. I changed MAP vacuum locations
thinking I was getting pulses - no dice. I wonder if this is related to the
6-cylinder calpak? I'm also gonna check my EGR valve tommorrow - comments?

Also, If anyone has any performance based Bins for this app (v8, 730, MAP,
Auto) I would appreciate being able to take a look at them for comparison
purposes. Any (well, almost any <grin>) comments and suggestions welcomed.
Thanks
