Car dieing/torque convertor update

Suggest that you tear down the tranny, if the converter puked then the 
shrapnel can easily circulate. I rebuilt a TH350C that puked a converter, 
junk stuck everywhere in the clutches and valve body (mind you the filter 
was not very good).

The covertor I had was already one of the high dollar ones.  They are
charging about 1/4-1/3 of original purchase price to fix things, and
that is less that what I could get a cheap one for.

Adding the multiple clutchs would be over and above what it costs to
fix things.
