DFCO, What is it good for?

 Sounds like symptoms I ran into once.  Never cured it, and haven't
been in a position to try, but still wonder.

Was this jerking pretty violent, say like shutting key off, turning
key on?  If you increased the throttle opening while it was happening,
did the symptoms dissappear?
