Just a couple thoughts.........your example with  28.125 #/Hr injectors, and
.45 bsfc, would wind up right on the ragged edge of almost being too lean
and would require a 100% injector duty cycle which is not optimal if can be
avoided.     If even one small thing goes wrong with your fuel system one
day, then say good-bye to a cylinder(s).

How about targeting for 500 Hp @.5 bsfc (.6 boosted), and a "design"
injector duty cycle of say 70%.  You would end up with 500*(.5)/.7/8 = 44.64
#/Hr injectors.  From projects that I've seen and worked on in the past, I
think you might find this more desirable.  At 40-50'ish #/Hr, you are still
able to purchase/find both saturated and peak & hold variety injectors, to
suit the electronics of your controller.
