If you look at the 747 hac entries 001B (I think it was)
there are some numbers for A+R for the different HEIs.
Trouble with DIS is sometimes you  can't retard the timing enough
since you get to the stage of the cyl at overlap having the intake valve
open far enough to have a intake backfire.
