I believe pinout is the same, except several pins on the 27C128 that are NC 
are address lines on the 512.  Just leave those leads not connected. (or 
run them to a switch and put 4 programs in the chip and use the switch to 
select which program you want!)
EEprom should work, just watch the pinout... if the pinout is the same, or 
if not, make an adapter.
