'165 Memcal & problems

First of all, does anyone have a Memcal or just the 2 other chips (other
than the EPROM) from a V8 '165 they would be willing to part with?

I have been having quit a bit of trouble converting my '85 5.0 TPI from
the '870 to the '165 ECM, I have made all the wiring changes required,
and when the EPROM is plugged in it fails to start (it will start with
no EPROM), it is not the VATS as that has been checked and rechecked
(even had someone else send me a calibration, and it failed as well). 
The '165 I have is from a 4cyl and I have cut the memcal in two and am
burning my own proms.  I am hoping that the 2 other chips are hosing
things up, otherwise I am looking at getting another ECU.
The '165 I have is from the salvage yard, appears to be in excellent
condition, and was presumably running before the car was damaged.

Any other comments or suggestions would be welcome as well :)
