thnx for the correction

383 = 4.25 bore (Same as 454 chev) 
Original 383 stroke is 3.38(shorter than 350 s.b.c., bit longer than the
327 s.b.c.)

440 stroke - 3.75 stroke(same as 400 s.b.c., 396 B.B.C. and 427 Chev)

If 383 bore is 4.25(Same as 427 and 454 chev) and the stroke is
3.75(Same as 427 Chev) then how can the 427 be a 427?  wouldn't it too
be a 431?

OR was your 383 overbored .030?
