Dead driver on '165?

If you don't have injectors pulsing apply a vats signal.
Yes they get toasty after a while.
If the MAP never varies from atmoshere then if codes.
  Once ya go to run drop the MAP,  ie apply ignition, and trip on the 
difffernt map/maf...
  Can't you disable the vats in the chip?.
