The thermostats in the newer cars are 195. Operating max temp is set by
the fan turn on temp in the ECM/PCM. thermostat just sets minimum
operating temp. 220-230 is not for emissions, but efficiency and
economy. Change the fan on/off temps and the Mileage will decrease
slightly (a couple percent).
