2000 RPM knock

To make a *real* long story short, the false knock I was getting @ 2000
RPMs is really that - but its coming from within the ECU.

Disconnecting the knock sensor completely results in no knock (naturally),
but sets the ESC code. No surprise there.

However, simulating the resistance of the KS w/ a 3.9k resistor (value of
the KS is 3.7k), connected to the KS wire (cut at the ECU), gives the same
strong knock @ 2000 revs.

So, its getting into the ECU or originating there. Tomorrow's project is
to 'scope all the I/O lines to the ECU.

Anybody had a similar experience?

No wiring changes were made at any time during the past few weeks engine work.

Thanks - Barry
