Welcome Dave.  It's my opinion that the easiest option in your case is to
buy a 89-92 TBI Fbody ECM #1228746.  It will plug right in and run (provided
you have the proper non-vats, 5spd bin).  The editor is availible from
Tunercat ($61).

The next easiest option is buying a 1227747 ecm.  You must cut pins C15 and
D15.  Then swap pins A11 and D2.  Get the truck bin that most closely
matches your setup.  Tunercat has this editior as well.   You do lose
canister control, and IAT and maybe more.... ???

The 7747 has been documented and disected more than the 8746......
