Folks,

I apologize for the bandwidth clutter, but it would be best if this item
found a good home on the passenger's seat of a fast car. It's in the name of
GMECM.

OK, several responses I have received offline, most asking how much.
Apologies for the ambiguity. Let's do it this way: make a bid through
offline email to craig.moates at home.com and I'll send all bidders a list of
who bid what each evening when I check mail. By this weekend, we'll close it
up. I have $150 in it including replacement TFT panel ($30), minus 4MB
memory card ($8 on Ebay) and AC adapter ($45 at same). Let's start at $90+ship.
If you're interested in the unit as described below, let me know offline. If
I upgrade my memory, I'll send you the 4MB card as well. I'll give 24 hours
notice prior to closing bid. Shouldn't go more than 3-4 rounds. I found a
couple of relatively comparable units for reference:

I have two Thinkpad 755C's, but only need one. The one I'm selling works
fine, but you'll need a power supply and if you want, a battery. It has a
75MHz (pretty sure) 486, 4MB onboard RAM, 163MB hard drive, active matrix
640x480 color, 1.44 floppy, new pointer pad thingy, etc. The hinges & all
work fine, snaps shut pretty OK. Great unit for datalogging through MS-DOS
or Win3.1. Could use at least another 4MB memory if you're going to run 95
though.

I'll throw in an active matrix screen that does not work (whoopee!). If you
want, I'll make sure it has a clean install of whatever OS you want. It's
set up with Dos622 & Win31 right now.

I wanted to give you guys first dibs before I put it in the paper. If you're
interested let me know off-line.

-Craig
