4L60e transmission question

I think the only application for a VCM for 94 S10s is with a manual trans.
A VCM controls the powertrain and the ABS. If it is an interior mount PCM
it does not control the ABS, the VCMs mount underhood. Bernie N(orfuki)?
used a 93 or 94 pcm to run his 4L60E tranny hooked parrallel to a 749 on a
syclone motor. This info should be in the archives from more than a year
ago.

Subject: 4L60e transmission question

Hi Y'all,

I have the opportunity to get the transmission from a 95 4.3 TBI s-10
for free. That's right no charge. A friend bought a wrecked s-10 for the
engine and is giving me the trans and most anything else I want because I
supplied the engine hoist and a days work. The question is, do I really want
this transmission. It looks like a 700r4 but has a connector that has 10 or
15 pins in it, so I am assuming it is a 4L60 E. He pulled the ecm and I
checked the number but it doesn't seem to be hacked ( I haven't seen the ecm
yet so I don't know any details). Would this transmission be worth the
trouble to swap into something, or would I be better served to keep looking
for a 700r4. I just don't want another dust collector in the garage that I
can't use.

Are the anti-lock brakes controlled by the pcm or is there a separate
controller?

Thanks,
Marvin
