Ahh, Bob just reminded me of something I've seen, on us reworking many
of those Jap low-mileage import engines that can then sit forever
somewheres. I'm assuming the intake manifold/stub-stacks/whatever that
the injectors are ensconced in is ALUM? Well, there's possibly a goodly
amount of dissimilar metal corrosion (from water sitting in betwixt the
alum and the INJ housing) in betwixt the INJ body and the bore. Now of
course since it's the INJ O-ring that's the presumed upon seal, the
bores aren't usually "zact precision".

I know this is gonna sound horrid, but try rapping with a plastic or
rubber mallet upside the injector, and use a punch indirectly if you
can't land a good blow without whacking the plastic connector or
fuel-rail connector, if whacking directly. Religiously go around the
entire 360 of the injector, being fair with the abuse. Main thang is you
DO have some slop in there to loosen, because there has to be enough
clearance for the O-rings to have cleared when assembled.

Be prepared for replacing the O-rings if you use more than carb cleaner
(actually I spose that's perfectly ok), xylene, mek, methaline chloride,
or even atomic fusion, or "gawd forbid" heat around the bosses. Also, if
Bob's suggestion doesn't budge them, consider this: carb cleaner and
other solvents won't dislodge or budge dissimilar-metal/galvanic
corrosion crud. (It'll look like a whitish powder when all is
saidNdone). But if you have some clearance to take advantage of, the
corrosion is usually soft enough to loosen up with some well-placed
plastic/rubber "explosive" blows. But, pardon me summoning the obvious,
don't use anything harder than plastic or rubber on them. Even a brass
hammer would be too burly, I fear. And of course, it goes without
saying, again you'll pardon me but innocents and children may be reading
:), whatever you do, don't smack the INJ connector itself.

If none of what everyone's suggested works, I'd at least give yourself
the satisfaction, and the lil guys the treat, of trying some blasting
caps. You won't likely have anything to work with afterwards, but the
sense of "closure" will help the comradery enormously. :)
