PCM and Trannies

-> PCMs are neat when used to their capacity for tranny control.

 I've always wondered why you couldn't dispense with the synchros and
their drag entirely and let the ECU dither engine speed to engage plain
old dog clutches.  It'd take a bagful of position sensors on the gear
teeth to do it right, but sensors are cheap now.
