General tuning question - fuel economy

My dad's '98 LS1 Z28 would get 30mpg at 70mph all the time in 6th. All that
and low 13's at the drags! That kind of mileage was normal for him, too, he
put 58,000 miles on that car during the 14 months he owned it. (He travels
alot for work)
