Any other GM comms speeds?

I can select a 1995 Vauxhall/Opel Corsa C1.4NE on the Tech 1. It then says
"Waiting for Data on MULTEC" . Other ECU's have different ECU names - the
other ones I've seen so far are MOTRONIC and GMP4 MPFI. So my guess is that
Vauxhall/Opel don't consider this ECU to be a GMP4, and (perhaps) have
programmed this ECU to behave like a Bosch ! Anybody know what a MULTEC is
? Or where there is a DIY_BOSCH_ECU type list ?

Tech1 appears to follow the Motronic (Bosch) startup sequence I described
yesterday, or something very similar. The problem is I don't have a storage
scope to see exactly what the startup (5 baud) character (s?) is/are. Even
if I did, I don't have a 'Corsa 1.4NE' to see what the format of the data
packet is. So I expect that's the end of any help I can give. Sorry.

But, If you have the TIS, then you can program your own cartridge for the
Tech1 and use that to diagnose the ECU. The only requirements are that you
have access to a Tech1 - and a spare MSC cartridge to program !!!. Of
course, this costs over 2000 quid ($3000 US) to buy here in the UK, which
takes all the fun out of tinkering with the ECU. Depends how desparate you
are to use that ECU. IMHO, your better of putting the money towards the new
Holden HSV

Cheers,

Psst.. Just between you me and the gatepost - I have a de-dongled copy of
both TIS and EPC. Don't let Mr Vauxhall know. He'll throw all the toys out
of his pram !

Malcolm, spot on, that's what my Opel/Vauxhall TIS CD shows as well, only
in
Oz they are badged as a Holden (Still got Opel on the Cam cover though!!).
I'd be 99% sure this is not OBD-II as others have suggested, the ECM does
not look complex enough. I have however seen the update to this ECM and
that
may be OBD-II, well, it has 1Mb Flash on board anyway.

I'll wait on your Tech1 results.
Thanks,

Ross Myers
