The Vortec heads intake port is raised .200", which is too high for a TPI or 
a TBI intake. There are a few carb intakes on the market for these heads 
which could be plumbed for port EFI. The ACCEL single plane intake with port 
injection might fit but it would be very close. It has bosses on it that 
could be drilled to be used on the Vortec heads. I'd recommend looking at one 
and mocking it up to your heads first. Another possibility is drilling and 
tapping the heads to bolt up the usual way. This gives you many more options. 
The factory intake can work out if necessary, but it requires ~60 psi. fuel 
pressure and setting up a TV cable for your trans could get messy.
