I dont know about other scanner companies, but Balco, who makes the snap on
scanner reverse engineers the code for its cartridges. Wouldnt tha be
considered illegal? I guess not since many dealer techs use this equipment. I
dont think its as big an issue with say GM as it is w/the EPA. Technically,
you're modifying an emissions control component and THATS punishable. Again,
"Technically"...
