I'm not sure about the module match. The 97 and later LS1 series engine,
which is now in the new trucks with a different intake, have no distributor
or high voltage switch. The ignition is CNP coil near plug. Each cylinder has
its own module, coil, coil to plug wire and they're all the same. The PCM or
now VCM controls each cylinder's spark timing individually, similar to the
injectors. It does use a new PCM for these, the old truck L 31 with the eight
poppet injectors (out of sight) has its own PCM family. The new engines have
external injectors, like most PFI systems.
