As long as Ed is creating a specific program for YOUR car and its specific
mods, then - go for it. Else... like I've heard time and again, from MOST of
the chip makers who produce "genericly programmed" chips that are supposed
to improve performance for a basically stock car, or a "somewhat modified"
car... Don't waste your money. I have met plenty of people with LT1s in all
bodies of cars, who have fallen for this crap, and eaten the $110 or more
...
You already heard my experience. It slowed me down at the track - even after
I had it in all week to make sure it was working. Popped the old one in AT
THE TRACK, and I gained 2 tenths (back to my preceeding best time). The cars
was mostly stock and it was a chip meant for no real mods - only a 160 stat.
I had heard good things about his programming skills from the f-body list,
and that is why I tried his chip. He did back it up - and gave me my $$$
back. So, there is another good thing. I don't know what his policy is for
non-generic chips, but I would have tried him again, if I didnt decide to do
it myself.
What type of program does your friend need? Maybe someone on the list can
do it?
Jeff
