diacom on 95 3.1

Last night I tried to connect diacom to a 95 cutlass w/3.1 engine.
Diacom I.D.'ed the year and engine combination O.K., but would not link.
The ALDL Connector only has pins at A, J & M locations. I couldn't even use 
the "paperclip" trick to retreive the trouble codes (no B pin in the aldl 
socket). Has anyone experienced this problem? Has anyone used Diacom to 
connect to one of these cars(might be something wrong with my cable)?
