16bit MAF xfer function in '165

Has anybody modified the code in a '165 ECM to use a 16bit MAF xfer
function? Currently, the stock MAF on the car maxes out at around 4000rpm.
I'd like to install a unit that can measure up to 512gms/sec (@ 5v), but
it'll require 16bits per entry in the transfer function in the ECM . Any
ideas?
