My '86 Grand Am (almost like a Calais) did this a lot. It would do it at
stops when I'd exit the highway, I never fixed it. Once it would start
bucking, I'd pop it in neutral, stop, rev it sky-high and drop into D,
free'd it every time. Probably not good for it though :)
