165 ECU File

I've had some good luck with my 87 305 TPI A4 using the 89 vette code. Made
some slight modifications to the APYP .ecu file, and just now started using
WinBin (was Hexedit until recently - decided to move into the 20th century
at least). The ecu file has a lot more work that needs to be done to make it
nice, but I've at least gotten started on it. There was unnecessary stuff,
and items which were needed to be added. Still need to add more to encompass
the modifications I've made to the base vette code to work with the 87.
You're welcome to what I have (ecu and bin files).

The mods I made so far are somewhat limited, but they include (VATSOff) (MAF
ANALOG) (CS Defeat) (FI Sizing) (Idle-vs-Temp) (SPK-vs-Ld-vs-RPM)
(SPKCorr-vs-Temp) (Fan-vs-Temp) (Knock Attack-vs-Temp-vs-Ld). Hadn't gotten
into fueling other than the FI sizing yet. BLM's on the fuel are 128+/-5 or
so.

I am having some light knock count showing up (seems to be limited to when
the throttle is stabbed to WOT, not WOT at high RPM), but I haven't chased that
to the ground yet. I'd tried taking timing out - had to look at the knock
occurrence location on the Ld-RPM map, and took some out there (it was
pretty localized), but little luck so far. It's like one count per 'stab'. I
may try a new sensor with teflon before I get too strung out over it.
Flat-stock on the long block (weak cam & heads), but it runs a HECK of a lot
better (especially off-idle) than the stock 87 chip. Car is 3500lb and runs
about 14.9 with headers & cleaned-up intake. Don't know how much more I can
expect from the present configuration.

Let me know off-line if you'd like to follow-up.
Regards,
Craig
