 You can get *much* better atomization through a venturi than from a
typical injector.  That's why Ford put venturis in their Indy motors
back in '65.

 A typical Bendix-type solenoid injector spends most of its cycle
dribbling or streaming; the pretty Christmas-tree-ornament pattern you
see in books is only formed for about a third of the cycle.  The rest of
it goes in big globs.  It's easily seen with a strobe.
