GM Fuel Pump control scheme

First of all I didn't start this thread and second, I was just saying that I
haven't seen a good reason yet for the oil pressure switch. I can't believe
that GM put the oil pressure switch in there solely as a backup to the relay.
I mean if you get a code that the relay is bad, just replace it. When you
first turn on the key, the fuel pump turns on for a few seconds with the
engine not turning. The ECM gets a feedback signal that the fuel pump has
voltage. I assume that lack of this voltage during this first priming is what
sets the code, otherwise the ECM will get the feedback voltage from the OP
switch.

I'm not obsessed with the answer to this question since I already have a
solution to MY harnesses. I plan to just include a jumper with 1/4" male
spades to jumper the relay in case of relay failure to get you home, either
in limp home or not. I am already not making a profit so having to include an
OP switch will just make it that much more money I'm donating to the cause of
spreading the GM EFI concept across the world, umm I mean Jeep world. I'm
done with this thread. JW
