GM Fuel Pump control scheme

These can be bad things when the customer works on his own vehicle. I had a
Blazer with a 2.8 come in, the OP switch wire was pinched under the TB.
Fuel
pump wouldn't come on at all....

It's been stated several times that there is no practical need for the
switch.
In series it would not be preventative because the switch opens too close
to
zero psi to save an engine on the highway.
