GM ignition trigger

I rigged up a GM pickup coil (magnetic crank-trigger type) and it fires an HEI 7-pin module with a
2-plug tower DIS coil from a V6 GM car.  Anyways, the coil fires just when the pickup passes over
iron.  So I need to mount a small piece of iron/steel on the flywheel of my 2-cylinder.  Is this
something that should be possibly a triangle shape with the point passing the pickup, similar to
the pickup coil in a stock HEI?  Or is a square edge fine?
