No combs on a "new" ECM

Cool.  I thought I saw on the print for the ECM a chip that connects right
to the ALDL & I assumed that it was an RS232 converter/level shifter. is it
just a buffer of sorts?

Quick comment - it's not an "RS232" chip.  The ALDL port nominally uses
TTL signal levels (0 to 5 volts).
