2 bar ECM again/still (HELP)

The GM docs state that the cylinder byte value is:
  4cyl = hex 80  (turbo sunbird)
  6cyl = hex C0 (turbo syclone/typhoon)
  8cyl = Hex 00

I looked at the ACTUAL turbo Sunbird & Syclone chips and found:
   4 cyl = E8
   6 cyl = C8
Hmmm..
Why the differences from the docs to "real world"?
Does this mean the 8cyl value will differ from the docs?
