All 165 ecm's use 8192 baud. (86 - 89 TPI's.)
I have been collecting the parts to convert my 89 Vet to a 730/727 ecm.
Terry Kelly thinks the data stream might work as is, if not it could be
modified to include this data to the 89 information center.

Subject: 6E and 8D Corvette BINs

  Hello,

I have been a subscriber to the list for about 6 months. I think this will be my first question. I have an 89 Corvette with the 165 ECM using the $6E code. I want to swap to the 730 ECM with 8D code. One function that the Corvette has that I would like to retain is the MPG functions (Avg, DTE, Instant fuel). I know that the information for that comes from the 165 VIA the serial pin. that feeds it to the cluster and it is displayed. As for the 90 newer they use a 727 where I would guess it operates the same way. What I want to know is does anyone know where the code is kept on the memcal for this? or if I do a 730 conversion will it work if I use a 90 Bin file? I would like to keep the functions and I think the code is on the memcal. Anyone have any ideas??

  Thanks
