Glad to hear you're "straight", Jeremy!

So that no-one can be quite sure who does and who doesn't ! Which leads to
much better manners overall!

All that crap about right-to-bear-arms aside, do we really need engineers
and techs and mechanics packing heat.

The very point _IS_ that random folks carrying at random is the thing which
has the positive effect.

I also suggest that you read the portion of Stuart Edward White's book,
"Folded Hills", which addresses the pros and cons of skill in the use of a
proper throwing knife vs. a six gun before you assume that "heat" is your
only source of apparent concern! Consider that there are also a fair number
of folks walking around who do not _NEED_ a weapon in order to off someone
who earns such a fate.

You cite safety, but safety from what?

Criminals--both violent and political. Which are somtimes congruent. And
the improvement in overall societal safety arises MUCH more from the evil
minded NOT HAVING A CLUE _who_ might be armed, and therefore not
defenseless than it does from actual brandishment or use of the subject
firearms.

Other gun owners? Should only the good people get guns and who ARE the
good people that don't make mistakes or get desperate? WHAT in the world
does somebody need a gun for except to KILL things?

Precisely what it _IS_ needed for when KILLING something is the appropriate
response--as it (all too) often _IS_!!

If you don't trust your own temperament to such an extent that you think
you would never react inappropriately when carrying, it is probably a wise
choice for you not to carry! But your inability to control your emotions,
and any decision you may have based on that inability, confers no right on
you to restrict the right of others who _CAN_ remain in control to exercise
their (natural) right to avail themselves of whatever means of self-defense
they deem most appropriate!

Unfortunately, in the land of the weird and the home of the craven, the
meaning and purpose of this very point seems to be getting more and more
lost on many of the sheeple!

"Anyone who would surrender any of his liberties in return for security
deserves neither!
--Benjamin Franklin.

Speak for whatever you think you deserve, but it would _NOT_ be wise to
consider intruding on my liberties!

Although the NRA has a political agenda, it will have no credence until it
starts knocking off senators.

Ayup!!

Respectful suggestions for starting places: Hillary & Schumer & Feinstein &
Boxer!
