Malcomm,
Mode 4 seems to be the black sheep of the aldl command
family. No one ever talks about, no s/w supports it,
and no one seems to know about it. If it wasn't for
the "turbo_p4_doc" file, I wouldn't know that it
existed.
It looks like very powerful took indeed. Aside from
the functions you mention, it looks like it can
disable c/l, the ses light, fan control, IAC control,
etc. Perhaps the reason it isn't widely used, is that
nobody wants to bet their engine on their typing
skills. I can see some poor soul screaming over the
remnants of a shattered piston, "I meant _$C4_, not
$4C !!!"
Regardless, I think it'd be a great idea to develop
this a bit further. People are still working on "Fuel
Knobs" and such.
Maybe if the commands were integrated into a
user-friendy s/w package we'd get some takers...
