SES Lamp driver question

Hi there!

I'm currently installing a 1228746 ECM / TBI system from an '89 Caprice on
an '85 Caprice, 305V8/4bbl/700r4/Federal emmissions/CCC control. One issue
I haven't completely decided how to handle is the SES lamp driver.

The CCC cars have a "Lamp Driver Module" that connects the ECM to the lamp.
The lamp is tied to +12VDC. As far as I can tell, the CCC ECM grounds the
SES lamp signal to the lamp driver module to light it. Fuel injected ECMs
like the '846 have no such lamp driver module, and the SES lamp itself is
grounded. Is this right, or am I mistaken?

If this is true, then the SES lamp output signal from the '846 is inverted
from what I need to drive the lamp. Anyone have any simple,
automotive-proven circuits they'd like to share? I was thinking a simple
2N2222 transistor inverter in a sealed project box, but I haven't built
much electronics for automotive use so I don't know what special
precautions I'll need to take concerning temperature stability,
current-handling needs, power supply quality, etc.

Thanks for any assistance,
