Check for a bad fuel pressure regulator. They will
leak raw fuel into the intake and it would be very
possible for it to not set a dtc for this condition.
On that vehicle the regulator is on the thrittle body
itself if I remember correctly, but I can't remember
exactly where the vaccum comes from on it. I think
(and I stress the word think here) that the regulator
still has a vaccum line going to it and if that is the
case the easiest way of checking the integrity of it
is to disconnect the vaccum line from the regulator
and checking for fuel in the line. If there is fuel in
the line then that is your problem. It would be best
to do this with the engine running to see if any fuel
leaks past the regulator with full pressure on it.
Since the engine is throttle body style injection it
is unlikely that a leaky injector itself would be the
cause since they provide pretty much a steady stream
of fuel anyways. Hope this helps,
