[Gmecm] 8746 ECU help

First time posting to this forum, so please excuse my ignorance. I have
been "lurking" for awhile and I believe more than enough talent is here to
put me in the right direction. Hope you guys can help.
I have installed an 8746 ECU in my '82 vette with a *prominator* to allow me
to tune w/o burning chips. This is great and in conjunction with Win ALDL
and TunerPro I can make changes I think are appropriate for my motor. I
have an 8746 definition file, but my problem is that I lack "layman's"
definitions for what the files actually do-in some cases. Let me see if I
can give an example of the type of help I am looking for...just an example:

"BLM enable min temp threshold" My head tells me that this would be the
temperature the engine needs to reach for freedback from the O2 sensor to
start computing BLMs for the ecu to BEGIN correcting for Rich/lean
conditions. So I look at value in bin and it's 189! can't be what I think
it means as car runs mostly cooler than this.

"BLM enable max. temp threshold" Sounds like the MAX. temp that the car
might reach where the BLM's would no longer be adjusting the BPW. Look at
value in my bin...it's "zero" WTF?????? Zero can't be a max temp. Do I
have it backwards??? Is there anywhere I can get a plain language
definition of what these various parameters do in real life? I am looking
specifically for the 8746 ECU.

I have a hand-me-down 8746 starter bin file that the car runs fair with, but
I don't want to tune by the Braille method! Anyone nwrite "tuning for
dummies"?

Bill
