[Gmecm] 96-00 GM VORTEC 350 (L31), batch fire or true MPFI???

Can anyone tell me if the "spider" central sequential fuel injection system
utilized on 1996 to 2000 GM 350 cid (5.7 VORTEC) full size truck motors is
a batch fire, or is it a true multipoint fuel injection system???

I ask because I have a complete intake assembly from a Mercury Marine small
block Chevrolet (L31) application that utilized external injectors, not the
internal spider poppet injectors, and I am attempting to install on my 1997
GM truck and operate it with the stock (but reprogrammed) CPU.
