The reluctor wheel is separate. It fits under the timing cover, in front of
the timing gear. The crank sensor is mounted in the plastic timing cover.

Subject: [Gmecm] Looking for info on Vortec engine w/crank sensor

Hi.

Can someone direct me to a good reading source (online or print) about the
Vortec v8 with crank and cam sensors? Curious if the reluctor is cast onto
the crank or could be retrofitted onto traditional SBC.

Thanks!
