[Gmecm] Missing 1x signal

Hello all. I'm getting a trouble code 41 - Missing 1x signal on my quad 4
running on an 1228707 ecm. Where does the 1x signal usually come from, the
crank sensor or the ignition module? The car still runs, but it often
times studders a bit under low/mid rpm acceleration. This may be a
completely unrelated problem. If the crank sensor is suspect, is it an
item that is easily replacable, or is it usually located somewhere inside
the engine block? Thanks
