[Gmecm] Bellhousing Design-Iron Duke

How would you go about making an adapter-- in other words-- how would you
measure the holes from center of the shafts with enough accuracy to ensure
proper alignment of torque converter and flexplate?

Great thread, and I'll need the info for adapting a BOP pattern 5.7 diesel
to my 700R4...

Actually, there were more than 3 bellhousings even for 
something as new as a THM400.  The 64 buick had a 
special round bellhousing, as did Cadillac.  The Cad 429 
had a bellhousing which looked like the BOP, but a couple 
holes were drilled differently.  This also affected the THM425, 
though all 68-78 and later THM325s used the BOP pattern.  
There were other 400s built for RR and Jags, etc.  

Adapters are cool, have done them also.  Bruce Roe
