[Gmecm] Preventing code 34

My oversized MAF is apparently putting out too low a voltage for the 
ecm. I have been able to compensate on the fuel side for the lower 
voltage, but code 34 keeps being set. Is there a setting to prevent code 
34 completely, or any other options? Once the code is set, the engine 
continues in closed loop, but is it operating the same way as if the 
code was not set?
