[Gmecm] ECM compatibility...

Robert, here are some pictures of the ECMs in question. They look very much identical. I'll be intertested to try running $A1 and $59 on this. If it works, it will help me out because there are a lot of 3300 cars currently at the junkyard.

Sorry for the large filesize, but I wanted PNG compression so the details of the PCB would not be blurred by the lossy JPEG compression.

I keep having things "come up" and haven't tried plugging it in yet!

I have a feeling there COULD be a difference in the limp-mode functionality. The 3300 engine was a MAF and the others speed-density. Maybe if one didn't care about limp-mode functioning it would not matter.

Thanks,
David

the 7730 already has all of the outputs necessary to run the 4T60E, and i'll agree with Jay, i don't remember seeing a 60E with the 3300 cars.

might want to pop it open and take some pics to see what is different from a 7730?

Thanks for the info. I bet it has outputs for the e-series transmission shift controls. I beleive by 1993 the 3.3 cars had a 4T60E trans. Today if I have time, I'm going to see if it will run the MAP $A1 code in my 2.8 powered car.

          Sincerely,
          David.

looks like it is indeed a 7730 variant.... possibly missing a quad driver or has something added, used on the 89-93 3.3 cars.

I have an ECM 01228706 and beleive it is a 7730 variant. Is there a list of
                    compatible OEM numbers somewhere?

                    Thanks!
                    David
