FNG here needing help trying to figure out what
will talk to the oddball 1995 flash based VCM-A on a 4.3 W vortex motor, 5 sp
stick, 4 wheel anti-lock. This thing has a OBD2 16 pin DLC, with all the right
pins stuffed for J1850, but won't respond to at all from B&B Electronics
OBD2 AT1 Autotap. Sticker underhood says OBD1 compliant. Anyone had any luck or
know if the Rinda Diacom stuff or a custom programmed Hughes Auto Xray unit will
talk and/or give anything useful? Both of these units only seem to support 12
pin ALDL. Is a 12 to 16 adapter all that required for either of these to talk?
BTW, the B&B unit does give plenty of useful info back on a 1999 OBD2 full
size truck, including ability to clear trouble codes.
