Nissan 200SX 1979

             I had an 85 200SX turbo but mine did not have an 
intercooler or direct fire ignition. It had twin ignition coils
and there were two sets of plugs. What I found was that if the
coil leads were reversed the tachometer would not work properly.
Don't know if this would help you as your engine sounds totally 
different to mine.
