I obviously don't speak for my employer on the
subject, but I agree with those of you that 
think the fake gauges are just plain stupid.
I don't know why a switch was made to look like
a gauge.  My guess is that it allowed direct 
reuse of the instrument panel (thereby "saving"
money).
