Injector Drivers

After reading several posts about wanting drivers for injectors, I was
wondering if anyone has used National Semiconductors LM1949 Injector
Drive Controller. It is TTL/CMOS input level compatible and using a
2N6044 Darlington transistor can drive injectors to over 5 amps in
either peak and hold or constant current mode. It even has a provision
to drop peak current if voltage drops below normal designed supply
voltage levels so the injector is not held on peak causing damage to the
injector. It seems to use a very minimal number of external parts and
will work reliably down to three volts (low battery). It's temperature
range is -55 C to +125 C ambient.

Any response about any problems or experience with this controller would
be helpful.

Thanks
