Someone asked about peroxide, thinking more O2 was a good think.
It is not.  Raising the percentage of oxygen in the combustion
chamber will cause detonation.  Increasing the air volume may
not.  Remember what happened to those astronauts in the Apollo
days that insisted on sucking pure O2?  They burned up, good,
real good!

Back to water injection, a second point (beyond cooling the air
charge) is the reduced need for WOT enrichment.  This means you
can theoretically run more boost, more horsepower, and not
worry so much about leaning out and holing a piston.  Unless,
as everyone keeps saying (and rightfully so) you run dry.
